Attendance Calculator

Attendance Calculator: current attendance percentage, how many classes you can safely miss (bunk) at 75%, or how many to attend in a row to recover.

This attendance calculator does the three calculations students actually need: your current attendance percentage, how many classes you can safely miss while staying at or above your target (75% by default), and — if you are already below — how many classes you must attend in a row to get back.

The maths

Current attendance is (attended ÷ total held) × 100. Safe bunks come from solving attended ÷ (total + missed) ≥ target for the largest whole number of misses. Recovery is the mirror problem: solve (attended + n) ÷ (total + n) ≥ target for the smallest n. Both are shown with your numbers so you can recheck them against your timetable as the semester moves.

Use it as a planner, not a permission slip

Attendance positions change with every class held, and institutions apply their own rules for medical leave, on-duty leave and condonation — some count per subject, not overall. Recalculate per subject if your college does, keep a margin above the threshold instead of riding exactly on it, and confirm the official position with your department before relying on any number here. Pair this with the Target CGPA planner and you have the two numbers that decide most semesters: attend enough, score enough.

Frequently asked questions

How is attendance percentage calculated?

Attendance = (classes attended ÷ total classes held) × 100. This calculator then works out safe misses or recovery classes for your target (75% by default).

How many classes can I bunk at 75%?

If you are above target, the calculator divides it out exactly: you can miss classes while attended ÷ (total + missed) stays at or above your target. It tells you the safe number — one more drops you below.

How many classes must I attend to reach 75%?

If you are below target, you must attend consecutive classes until (attended + n) ÷ (total + n) reaches the target. The calculator gives that number of classes in a row.

Is 75% attendance mandatory everywhere?

Many Indian universities and colleges set 75% as the eligibility threshold for semester examinations, sometimes with condonation below it. Your institution's rules decide — this tool plans around the target you enter.
