Calculate your Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada results with this SGPA to CGPA calculator JNTUK. It supports both equal-credit and weighted CGPA and explains every calculation.

How JNTUK grading works

JNTUK uses a 10-point scale tied to its academic regulations (R-series). SGPA is awarded each semester; CGPA aggregates across semesters. Credits per subject are defined in the curriculum; your semester grade card totals them. Because JNTUK semesters can carry different project/lab loads, the weighted formula – Σ(SGPA×credits)/Σcredits – gives the fairest CGPA. The calculator defaults to weighted when every row has credits and tells you it did so.

Worked example for JNTUK

Suppose Sem 6: 8.20 (22 credits), Sem 7: 7.70 (20 credits) → CGPA = (180.4 + 154.0)/42 = 334.4/42 = 7.96. Simple average = 7.95. The breakdown table shows SGPA, credits, SGPA×credits and running CGPA after each semester, so you see where an improvement lifted your cumulative score.

Percentage at JNTUK – the official rule

JNTUK's Academic Regulations R19 state the conversion directly: Equivalent Percentage = (CGPA − 0.75) × 10 (see the official R19 regulations on jntuk.edu.in ↗). So the worked example above, CGPA 7.96, converts to (7.96 − 0.75) × 10 = 72.10%. JNTUK updates its regulations across R-series years, so confirm that your batch's regulation carries the same clause — your regulation's Academic Regulations PDF and the footer of your grade card are the deciding documents, and the calculator links the official source with the result.

Frequently asked questions

How does JNTUK compute CGPA?

JNTUK follows a similar framework to JNTUH – SGPA per semester, CGPA cumulatively. Use weighted mode when credits are available.

What is the JNTUK CGPA to percentage formula?

Percentage = (CGPA − 0.75) × 10 under JNTUK's Academic Regulations R19, which state Equivalent Percentage = (CGPA – 0.75) x 10. A CGPA of 7.96 therefore converts to 72.10%. Check your own regulation's document, linked from the calculator result.

What credits should I enter for JNTUK?

Use the semester credit totals from your JNTUK grade card.

Can I calculate for all semesters at JNTUK?

Yes – add rows for each completed semester (up to 12) and calculate.
