CGPA to Percentage SPPU

CGPA to Percentage SPPU calculator with SPPU's official banded conversion (Circular 332/2020), worked examples and the official source.

Convert CGPA to percentage

By university rule • Official source linked with every result
No rule is applied until you select a university — we never guess a formula.

What CGPA do you need for your target percentage?

Reverse of the official rule above

Enter the percentage a form, employer or admission asks for, and this works backwards through the same official rule to the CGPA you need. If the rule cannot be reversed to one exact CGPA (banded rules), it says so instead of guessing.

This page is for students searching CGPA to percentage SPPU — how a Savitribai Phule Pune University CGPA should become a percentage. The calculator above has SPPU pre-selected and applies SPPU's official banded conversion automatically. Here is the rule, where SPPU publishes it, and how to check the result against the official circular yourself.

Start with your exact SPPU CGPA

Conversion is the last step, not the first. If you only have semester results, build your cumulative figure with the SPPU SGPA to CGPA calculator, using the SGPA and semester credits printed on your SPPU grade cards. Copy the CGPA exactly, with both decimals. A percentage calculated from a rounded or estimated CGPA inherits that error before any formula is even applied.

The official SPPU rule: banded equations (Circular 332/2020)

SPPU does not convert with one multiplier. Under Circular No. 332/2020 ↗ — “Conversion Equation of CGPA to Percentage for UG Degree of All Faculties”, for programmes under CBCS from AY 2019–20 — your final grade band selects the equation: O (CGPA 9.50–10): 20 × CGPA − 100 · A+ (8.25–9.50): 12 × CGPA − 25 · A (6.75–8.25): 10 × CGPA − 7.5 · B+ (5.75–6.75): 5 × CGPA + 26.25 · B/C (4.75–5.75): 10 × CGPA − 2.5 · D (4.00–4.75): 6.6 × CGPA + 13.6. Worked examples: CGPA 9.60 → 20 × 9.60 − 100 = 92.00%; CGPA 8.00 → 10 × 8.00 − 7.5 = 72.50%; CGPA 6.00 → 5 × 6.00 + 26.25 = 56.25%. The calculator above picks the band for your CGPA and shows the substituted equation with a link to the official circular.

Check your pattern before you convert

Circular 332/2020 covers UG programmes under CBCS from AY 2019–20. Older SPPU patterns were converted differently — the examination section's marksheet conversion note ↗ for older patterns uses Percentage = CGPA × 8.9 with its own class table. If your grade card predates the CBCS pattern, or your programme handbook names a different circular, that document governs your result, not the banded table. Your college examination cell can confirm which conversion applies to your batch if the trail is unclear.

How to convert, step by step

First, take your exact final CGPA — both decimals, unrounded. Second, find its band in the table above (or simply enter it in the calculator, which does this for you). Third, apply that band's equation exactly as written and round only the final percentage. Keep the circular's name beside your result — “as per SPPU Circular 332/2020” — so anyone checking the figure can open the same official document. The general method is also explained in our guide on how to convert CGPA into percentage.

Frequently asked questions

How to convert CGPA to percentage for SPPU?

Start from your exact SPPU CGPA, find its final-grade band, and apply that band's equation from SPPU Circular No. 332/2020. Our calculator has SPPU pre-selected and applies the band for you, linking the official circular with the result.

What is the SPPU CGPA to percentage formula?

SPPU uses banded equations by final grade (Circular 332/2020): O (9.50–10): 20 × CGPA − 100; A+ (8.25–9.50): 12 × CGPA − 25; A (6.75–8.25): 10 × CGPA − 7.5; B+ (5.75–6.75): 5 × CGPA + 26.25; B/C (4.75–5.75): 10 × CGPA − 2.5; D (4.00–4.75): 6.6 × CGPA + 13.6.

Can I multiply my SPPU CGPA by a number I saw online?

Do not use a flat multiplier for SPPU. The official Circular 332/2020 conversion is banded — the equation depends on your final grade band. A single multiplier copied from social media or another university can misstate your percentage on admission and job forms.

Where does SPPU publish its conversion rule?

In Circular No. 332/2020 (Conversion Equation of CGPA to Percentage for UG Degree of All Faculties), on SPPU's official circulars portal — linked from this page. Older patterns used a different marksheet conversion (CGPA × 8.9), so match the document to your pattern year.

How do I get my SPPU CGPA first?

Use the SPPU SGPA to CGPA calculator to combine your semester SGPAs with credits, then return here and follow the SPPU conversion guidance with that CGPA.
