University of Mumbai CGPA to Percentage

University of Mumbai CGPA to percentage: MU publishes no CGPA multiplier — the official percentage comes from your actual semester marks. Process, steps and official source.

Convert CGPA to percentage

By university rule • Official source linked with every result
No rule is applied until you select a university — we never guess a formula.

What CGPA do you need for your target percentage?

Reverse of the official rule above

Enter the percentage a form, employer or admission asks for, and this works backwards through the same official rule to the CGPA you need. If the rule cannot be reversed to one exact CGPA (banded rules), it says so instead of guessing.

University of Mumbai does not convert CGPA to percentage with a multiplier. This page explains the official process MU actually uses, so you never quote a borrowed formula on a form. The calculator above is pre-set to MU: enter a CGPA and it will show you this guidance with the official source, instead of inventing a number.

How MU calculates your percentage

University of Mumbai no longer converts CGPA to percentage with a formula. Since 1 January 2026, your college calculates the actual percentage from your marks in all semesters (Sem-I to Sem-VI), and the University issues a conversion certificate only if you request one. The older (CGPA × 7.1) + 11 formula was repealed, so do not use it.

Official source: University of Mumbai Circular No. Exam/Result/2026 dated 01.01.2026 (official PDF) ↗ (checked 2026-10-19). It applies to: All applicable CBGS/CBSGS patterns and batches (Circular dated 1 January 2026).

Step by step, from your semester marks memos

  1. Take every semester's marks memo or grade sheet for your programme.
  2. Add up the marks you secured across all semesters.
  3. Add up the maximum marks across the same semesters.
  4. Percentage = (total marks secured ÷ total maximum marks) × 100. Our Marks Percentage calculator does this division and shows the marks needed for common cut-offs.
  5. When a form asks for a percentage, quote that figure and keep the official circular (linked above) ready — it is the document a verification officer can check.

Why other websites show a formula for MU

Some calculator sites still show a multiplier for MU — copied from other universities, or from a rule that is no longer the official process. MU's own current official document does not convert CGPA with any multiplier; it calculates from actual marks. If your marksheet itself prints a percentage, that printed figure is always the one to quote.
