Check your CGPA against a percentage cutoff

By official university rule • Nothing stored
Your CGPA is converted with your university's own official rule — never a generic multiplier.

This placement cutoff checker answers the question on every final-year student's mind — does my CGPA clear the cutoff? — the honest way: your CGPA is first converted with your university's own official rule, then compared with the cutoff you enter (60% by default).

Why the university matters more than the cutoff

A cutoff is announced in percentage, but your transcript shows CGPA — and conversion is not universal. The same 8.00 CGPA is 82.00% at one university, 80.00% at another, 77.00% at a third and 72.50% at a fourth. Checking eligibility with a generic ×9.5 can tell you that you clear 60% when your university's official conversion puts you below it, or the reverse. Select your university (and scheme, where offered) and the checker applies its published rule, showing the equation and the official source.

Reading the result

You get your converted percentage, a clear eligible/not-yet verdict for the percentage criterion, the margin in percentage points, and the exact CGPA the cutoff requires under your rule — useful mid-degree, when there is still time to act on it with the Target CGPA planner. Remember that percentage is only one filter: postings may also set Class 10/12 criteria, active-backlog rules and gap-year limits, and criteria change between drives. Confirm the full list with your placement cell before relying on any single number.

Frequently asked questions

What is the 60% criteria in campus placements?

Many recruiters ask for at least 60% (or the CGPA equivalent) in the degree, often alongside 60% in Class 10 and 12. The exact criteria change from company to company and drive to drive — always check the official job posting or your placement cell's notice.

Which formula converts my CGPA for the check?

Your own university's official CGPA-to-percentage rule, selected above and linked with the result. A CGPA of 8.0 can be 82%, 80%, 77% or 72.5% depending on the university — a generic multiplier would give you the wrong eligibility answer.

If I meet the cutoff here, am I eligible?

For the percentage criterion alone, yes — but companies may add conditions on backlogs, gap years, Class 10/12 marks and course eligibility. Treat this as the percentage check, then confirm the full criteria in the posting.

What CGPA do I need for 60% at my university?

The checker works it out from the official rule (for example, CGPA × 10 needs 6.00, while (CGPA − 0.75) × 10 needs 6.75). Change the cutoff box to test any threshold.
